Community-based interventions
Community-based interventions address the individual, social and environmental influences on behaviour making them consistent with ecological models of health (Merzel et al 2003). We are currently involved in two community based interventions. DEAL is a study aimed at developing child- and family-based interventions designed to prevent childhood obesity in ethnic minority children. We are also involved in a study, starting November 2010, that will aim to improve well-being in people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds during the transition period from end of treatment of breast cancer to survivorship.
