Cognitive Pathways and Health
People’s IQ (or mental or cognitive ability) has been shown to be related to their health and health behaviours. IQ is also socially patterned, and related to people’s education. We are investigating these relationships. For example, in the Twenty-07 Study we found that lower IQ was associated with higher risk over overall mortality and mortality from heart disease (more info).
