Biography and Interests

Since graduating from Strathclyde University with a BA (hons) in Psychology in 2007, Joanne has worked as a research assistant for Strathclyde University (evaluating the extended pre-school provision for vulnerable two year olds pilot programme) and the Renfrewshire Educational Psychology Service (consulting with young people on their experiences leaving care; consulting with young people on their experiences with alcohol education in secondary schools).

Joanne joined the SPHSU in September 2009 and is currently studying for an MRes in Public Policy investigating the effects of urban regeneration on young people in Glasgow, as part of the GoWell project. After this, she hopes to go on to a PhD, investigating this issue further. Her supervisors are Lyndal Bond and Louise Lawson (urban studies).

Joanne also is a graduate teaching assistant in the Psychology Department of Glasgow University.
