Biography and Interests

Alison graduated from Glasgow University in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Virology, and from Edinburgh University in 2004 with an MSc in Epidemiology. Her dissertation investigated factors associated with immunisation uptake by 24 months in Scotland.

Alison joined the Ethnicity and Health team as a survey analyst in 2005. She worked on both the DASH study and on analysing international datasets.  In 2007 she started a full-time PhD, also with the Ethnicity and Health team.  This will investigate ethnic differences in cardiovascular health in adolescence, and will focus specifically on the impact of neighbourhoods and schools.
