Biography and Interests
Martin joined the SPHSU as a cross-programme Research Assistant in 2010 and is currently providing research support for two of the Unit’s programmes: Sexual Health and Families and Evaluating the Health Effects of Social Interventions.
He has an MA (Hons) in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Glasgow and an MSc in Social Research, also from the University of Glasgow. His MSc dissertation focused on newspaper reporting of the recent group of suicide deaths in Bridgend, Wales. As well as the social determinants of health, his research interests include aspects of the media and criminological fields and also quantitative and qualitative research methodology.
