Biography and Interests

Lisa McDaid (nee Williamson) graduated in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies from the University of Paisley and went on to do the MPhil in Social Science Research at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1998. Lisa joined the MRC Social and Public Health Sciences Unit in 2000 and gained her PhD from the Unit in 2007.

Lisa was promoted to a Programme Leader Track Scientist post in 2010 and is now developing and leading on the Unit’s programme of research on sexual health. She is particularly interested in sexual risk-taking, the social factors associated with this, and the development and evaluation of interventions to improve sexual health.
