Biography and Interests
Elise obtained a BSc in Mathematics from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, followed by a PhD in Number Theory from University of Exeter, and an MSc in Medical Statistics from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She joined the Social and Public Health Sciences Unit as a Statistical Epidemiologist in 2011, working on the West of Scotland Twenty-07 Study. Before this she worked at the Cancer Research UK Cancer Epidemiology Unit, University of Oxford; the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, University College London; and the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol, where she holds an honorary Lectureship. Her main research interests are the determinants of health, particularly mental health, across the lifecourse.
