Biography and Interests
Laura graduated with a BA (hons) in Psychology from the University of Strathclyde in 2009. Her main interests were how the elements of social psychology could be used in health research and her undergraduate dissertation focused on how personality types may be linked to certain coping styles when dealing with stressful situations.
She joined the Social Patterning of Health over the Lifecourse programme in 2009 to undertake a 1+3 studentship. She completed the Masters component in September 2010, with a dissertation that focused on the experiences and understandings older adults from the West of Scotland have of physical activity. Her PhD is a continuation on the theme of physical activity but is a quantitative project focusing on the longitudinal trends of physical activity from the Twenty-07 study and how they relate to health.
She is supervised by Michaela Benzeval and Nanette Mutrie (University of Strathclyde).
